Regional Development


Ministry of Territories and Communities Development of Ukraine (Minregion) implements policy in the sphere of regional development.

The main responsibilities of the Minregion are as follows:

ensure development and implementation of the state regional policy on promotion of region’s participation in programmes and projects of inter-regional and cross-border cooperation;

development of the best possible system if institutional support in regional development.

To perform its tasks, Minregion should:

define priority directions for regional development;

support complex social-economic development of regions;

develop state strategy for regional development, plans of its implementation and ensure methodological guidance and coordination of activities in support of preparation of regional development strategies;

routinely develop drafts of legal acts in the sphere of regional policy;

enforce coordination of central and local executive authorities on the issues of Ukraine’s participation in implementation of the EU-Strategy for Danube Region and Financial Agreement on Danube Transnational Programme;

adopt order on informing and functioning of the roster of cross-border agreements;

provide digital transformation in the sphere of regional development;

cooperate with institutions of the Council of Europe, European Union, governments of other countries, international organizations, founds, technical assistance projects and donors’ organizations on the implementation of the state regional development policy.

Also, Minregion fulfil the function of the National Contact Point for the Danube Transnational Programme Interreg V-В Danube – CCI 2014TC16M6TN001) under the provisions of the regulation of the Government of Ukraine from 20 November 2019 #1038 “On introduction of the system of management and control of implementation of the Financial Agreement on Danube Transnational Programme (Interreg V-B Danube – CCI 2014TC16M6TN001)”.
